On April 23, 2008, me and my family suffered a terrible loss in the early evening. A little past 6:00p.m., me and my mother were off to church. We were gone five minutes and we get a call that shocked us forever. My aunt's seven year old pug Britteny died likely of a heart attack. she had her last walk of her life, and when she got home, she walked into the bathroom and sprawled herself over the cold tile like she always would. Her hard breathing stopped and my aunt walked into the bathroom, and found her dead on the floor.
No one got a chance to say goodbye to her...
My mother and I bawled on our way home, and we drove to their house. We witnessed the burial of her. It was awful. The other pug, Spike even cried as they placed her in the grave in the backyard. We all helped bury her body, each of us skooped up the dirt as we closed up the hole.
On a rock spelled out her epitaph: R.I.P. Britteny.
Rest in peace Britteny, up there in Heaven. You are young again, roaming free where the temperature is perfect. You are chasing birds and taking all the walks you want. I'm sorry to say that one of your favorite activities initiated your death.
Please keep me and my family in your prayers. It's been really hard without her. We all loved her. She was a wonderful friend.
